While working on these characters, along with others that I’ll be sharing soon, I’d like to showcase this group of characters, known as the **PMC Enemies**.
Here you can take a closer look at part of my process, including many of the references behind these designs. I always try to understand the functionality and purpose of each piece of equipment so that the characters feel as believable and grounded as possible.
Beyond the references I use for research and inspiration, I also include additional visual references around the concepts to make my intentions as clear as possible for the 3D artist. I try to clearly communicate which elements are important to preserve and which areas can be interpreted or developed more freely during the modeling process.
I also see the concept art process as a collaboration. Whenever the 3D artist needs additional clarification, visual support, or help developing an idea, I’m always available to work together and help guide the visual development of the character.
The team has been hard at work, and the first group of characters has now been officially announced. They were both a lot of fun and a great challenge to work on. I’m very grateful to Chris for the opportunity and for sharing his expertise and passion for military art and being a veteran.
